MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

COUNCIL

PRESENT:     Nils Troedsson, Allen Lawson, Tom Straugh, Mike Riley, and Mayor Martin Malesich

 

EXCUSED:    Frank Mastandrea, Jim Mc Isaac

 

ABSENT:       Raymond Graham, Michael Klakken

 

STAFF

PRESENT:     Faye Jones, City Clerk; Amber Herzog, City Hall Clerk; J. S. Turner, Director of Operations; John Gutcheck, Chief of Police; Ty Cobb, Treasurer and W. G. Gilbert III, City Attorney and Scott Marsh, Fire Chief

 

Mayor Malesich called to order the regular council meeting at 7:00 P. M.  The council had a discussion about not having a quorum. Two councilpersons were no shows for the meeting, therefore, the council requested Police Chief Gutcheck phone Councilpersons Graham and Klakken requesting their presence at the meeting. Mayor Malesich notified the council that Mr. Gutcheck did not receive a response from Councilpersons Klakken and Graham when he phoned them.

Councilperson Riley asked Mr. Gilbert for clarification on the ordinance regarding fines for councilpersons not showing up for council meetings. Mr. Gilbert replied that Councilperson Klakken and Graham could be subjected to fines from $10.00 to $100.00.

A discussion ensued about recessing the meeting. Mr. Gilbert stated the meeting could be recessed, therefore, Councilperson Straugh suggested recessing the meeting to the 10th of January 2007, at 7:00 P.M. With the consensus of the council, Mayor Malesich stated the meeting would reconvene on 10 January 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
