City Attorney

The City of Dillon is looking for an experienced attorney to handle civil matters and misdemeanor criminal matters. As the Dillon City Attorney, you will work closely with the Mayor, Director of Operations, and Dillon City Police Department. You will be a voting member on the DUI Task Force Board and play a key role at zoning commission meetings, plan board meetings and other city council meetings. The City Attorney’s Office is situated in a generous space on the second floor of City Hall and is staffed with a full-time paralegal. The position exposes an attorney to the many aspects of city government, as well as the prosecution of misdemeanor crimes within the city limits. When you are not at City Hall, enjoy the outdoors in Beaverhead County by partaking in world-class fly fishing, finding the perfect hunting spot, or hitting the slopes at Maverick Mountain. Probationary Police Patrolman

This position involves a variety of law enforcement duties requiring self-supervision, motivation, and integrity. Officers enforce laws, protect life and property, and maintain public safety. Applicants should be comfortable using modern law enforcement technologies, including digital communication systems, computer-based reporting, and related tools. The job requires rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays and demands good physical health and stamina. Work may involve pursuing suspects, operating in adverse weather, and handling sensitive information with confidentiality.

Minimum qualifications:

· be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years old, and a high school graduate or GED equivalent;

· pass local, state, and national background checks and have no felony convictions;

· be of good moral character, verified by a background investigation;

· have no subversive affiliations within the past 5 years;

· pass a medical exam by a licensed, departmentally-appointed physician;

· successfully complete an oral interview assessing communication, temperament, and motivation;

· complete the Montana Law Enforcement Basic Academy within one (1) year of hire;

· hold or be eligible for a valid Montana driver's license; and

· at the time of appointment, shall take a formal oath of office, adhere to the Peace Officer Code of Ethics.

Water/Sewer Operator

This employee performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, testing, maintenance, and replacement of the city water and sewer systems.  This employee is generally responsible for the daily operation of the water and sewer systems and the record keeping required for these facilities.
